You will receive instruction by Registered Nurses. Our instructors go beyond preparing you for the exam and prepare you for a real life workplace environment.

The curriculum consists of 36 lecture hours, 36 hours of lab work and 24.5 hours of clinical experience. Included is also five hours of BLS training for a total of 101.5 hours.

The Nurse Aide Program

The Nurse Aide Program, or nurses assistant program, is designed to prepare students for a career as a nurses aide and to take the Prometric State Test to become a Certified Nurse Aide. Upon completion of the program they have the knowledge and competent skills to work in facilities for long-term care. This is a great entry point into the health care industry.

Included With Your Tuition:

Your tuition pays for a uniform, uniform patch, textbook, workbook, BLS, admission fee, watch, shoes, background check, TB test, and the fee for Prometric State Certification Test. All students also have the option to receive their updated immunizations and flu shot provided by the Genesee County Health Department.

You will earn a Dementia Care Certificate during your training. The State Nurse Aide Certification Exam is administered onsite by Prometric. As an Regional CNA Testing Site for Prometric Testing, we offer the complete solution for your Nurse Aide certification.

Bridge Program Available:

Home Health Aide

Our Home Health Aide program offers a bridge for current Nurse Aides who have completed a 75 hour Nurse Aide training program, to also become a Home Health Aide. Students will learn the skills and requirements to successfully provide client care in the home care environment.

Hospice End of Life Care

Our Hospice End of Life Care program addresses the end of life experience and how it is different for each client. It covers the important role of the care staff in helping to ensure the final stages of life are as peaceful and comfortable as possible; what to expect in the dying process; providing support for the client’s loved ones; and working with a hospice agency.

Medication Aide

Our Medication Aide program offers a bridge to current nurse aides who have completed a 75-hour nurse aide training program to become a Medication Aide and pass medications in a licensed assisted living facility or adult foster care. This program teaches the basic medication administration skills needed to perform the job safely.
